Penn State Women Fall to Life University 44-12

The Penn State Women took on Life University in the team’s first home game of the season this past weekend, defeating Life’s JV on Friday evening and dropping the game to Life’s Varsity on a beautiful fall Saturday morning.  It was a tough match and the young Penn State side struggled with the speed and athleticism of their opponent and eventually dropped the game 44 - 12.

Both Penn State trys came from 5th year scrumhalf Sophie Pyrz in the second half, with Junior flyhalf Darina Roe converting the first. Penn State’s first try came after spending quite some time in the opposition 22 and Life doing themselves no favors with multiple penalties.  Sophie would eventually take advantage with a quick tap and get over the line. The team’s second try was the result of a clean line break from a scrum right outside the opposition 22 at the closing whistle.
