Chris Rumple who played lock for PSU was awarded a Fulbright grant to research renewable energy solutions for developing. Check out the info below. Congrats, Rumple!
I would like to conduct post graduate research in developing cost effective fabrication methods of hydro-turbine and optimization methods for reducing losses in micro-grid control at the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) in Bogor City, Indonesia. The host institution will provide assistance with analysis of an existing 10 kWe hydro plant near the Lebak District, West Java. The overall goal of this research is to empower communities through electrification.
Host Country Engagement:
I will be engaging the communities near Bogor City by playing for the Jakarta Komodos Rugby Football Club, which located 15 km from my host institution. I also will be helping to coach high school age players in the Komodos’ under 18 (U18) team. If time permits, I will like to cultivate interest between the Komodos Rugby club and Insitut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) in developing an intramural rugby club at IPB.
Mike Petri has accomplished a lot this year. On July 24th, Mike earned his 50th cap when the U.S. hosted Japan in the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup.
